Mamoncillo

Found in the American tropics from Mexico to northern South America and the Caribbean, the mamoncillo is a tree that bears a small, edible fruit with green, leathery skin and a sweet, juicy, translucent pulp. Also known as quenepas, Spanish limes, limoncillos, and ackees, among other names, the fruits are traditionally eaten by cracking the thin layer of skin with the teeth and putting the whole pulp in the mouth.
