Unit 731

Unit 731 was a covert biological and chemical warfare research unit of the Imperial Japanese Army that conducted lethal human experimentation during the Second Sino-Japanese War and World War II. It was responsible for some of the most notorious war crimes carried out by Japanese personnel, including experimentation on more than 10,000 people, many of whom faced infection with diseases or invasive medical procedures while still alive.
